PNS

Born in Dhanbad and residents from Ranchi, 7-year-old ‘Google Kids’ Virat Maken and Viraj Maken, who are known as Calculator Boys in the State, are the first two children in the country to have an amazing ability to recite tables upside down. And, following this method, they have got his name registered in the India Book of Records in the most unique category.

They started with tables from 1-75, then up to 80, then up to 80-90, and have now travelled a distance up to 90-100 and have a mastery over the tables from upside down, regular or any instantaneous query.

After getting training from their maths teacher father Gagan Maken, Virat and Viraj very easily moved to the next step, determining the square and square roots that children study in class VI and VII. They remember not only 40, 50, 60 but up to 100 squares and their square root, but the most important thing is that Virat and Viraj calculate squares in three different ways.

On September 9, 2021, Virat Maken registered his name in the Asia Book of Records, in which he recited the table from 90 to 1 in just 10 minutes 21 seconds in reverse order. At the same time, Viraj Maken recited the table from 100 to 1 on 10 September 2021 in just 10 minutes 15 seconds in reverse order and entered his name in the Asia Book of Records.

Then in the same way on September 12, 2021, they created history by creating four world records in a one-hour long online programme. Country’s fourth largest world record organisation “OMG BOOK OF RECORDS” was telecast live on YouTube on September 12, 2021. In the programme of 1 hour 8 minutes, 4 panel members were witnessing and judging Virat and Viraj on record attempts. This event can be seen in google or youtube by typing “SPOTLIGHT WITH ABHA VIRAT & VIRAJ” where two little 7 year old kids made history which is a source of inspiration for other kids.

Virat and Viraj were awarded the title of ‘Rarest of Rare Attempts’, where in the first record, Virat recited a straight table from 1 to 100 in just 9 minutes 19 seconds and in the second record, he recited a straight square from 1 to 100 in 1 minute 7 seconds and won the title of world record.

On the other hand, in the first record, Viraj recited the reverse table from 100 to 1 in just 8 minutes 50 seconds and in the second record, he recited the reverse square from 100 to 1 in just 1 minute 6 seconds, he also won the title of world record. Similarly, both the twin brothers got their name registered in the world record.

The most amazing thing is that the half dozen records have been made by the children with their eyes closed which one can see in the live recorded programme of ‘Spotlight With Abha Virat & Viraj’. Maths teacher father Gagan is waiting for more records, maths and other subjects while preparing with the indigenous technology of the house, these small children are moving towards the world of miracles, enjoying every second of this indigenous technique of teaching.

Children can also create a pleasant educational environment by taking inspiration from these 7 year old little boys, father Gagan Maken and mother Shilpi Maken, while assessing the journey ahead, said that Virat and Viraj are heading towards the biggest and most difficult Guinness Book of World Records, but efforts and preparations will go on.
