Prime accused in Madhu Koda threat call case Deepak Jaiswal is likely to reach here to Ranchi on by Tuesday. The police, after doing preliminary interrogations over phone, have asked him to come down to Ranchi. Deepak is said to have consented to cooperate in the case.

“As everything is clear and the accused person has promised to cooperate in the case, we have asked him to come down to Ranchi as soon as possible. He is likely to reach here to Ranchi on Tuesday,” said SP City Jaya Roy. As of now, we are proceeding by investigations considering it as a threat case, she said.

Following a threat call received on his mobile phone, Koda lodged an FIR with lalpur Police Station late in the night on Sunday. According to the complaint filed personally by Koda, a person identifying himself as Deepak Jaiswal, called him for the first time on Saturday night and demanded Rs 20 lakh as extortion money. The caller threatened to abduct Koda’s daughter if he failed to send the money to him.

“I did not take the matter seriously and let it go….but again he called me up on Sunday threatening to abduct my daughter if I fail to pay Rs 20 lakh to him,” said Koda. Gauging the seriousness of the matter, an FIR was registered with the Police, added Koda.

Koda alleged that the extortionist had also tried to call him on his cell phone on January 8, but he could not receive the call. The call had come from mobile number – 0984274000.

The police however, claimed that the number of the accused has been traced out and has been located somewhere at Bhubneshwar in Odisha. The police also contacted the person who said that he never demanded any money from Koda.

“Jaiswal admitted over phone that he called up the former Chief Minister on Sunday concerning his antique business while he was drunk,” said City DSP. Jaiswal further added that since he was drunk, he might have talked to him at a higher pitch, for which has already apologized to Koda, added the City DSP.
