On Wednesday loyola celebrated German language Day. On this occasion a German quiz was conducted and prize winners were honoured at the assembly . The students of Std 4 and 5 spoke about German language Day and also sang a song in German at the assembly. German language Day celebration was started in 2001 on September 5. Since then people all over the world who people speak or learn German celebrate this day in the month of September . There are around 20 million students all over the world learn German whose mother tongue is not German.

“A child, who learns today foreign language, will have an edge over others tomorrow. And will be a true global citizen. I think the schools should also focus on starting classes on languages being spoken in Western countries since the focus is here,” noted a school teacher.
