As the outcry made by the loudspeakers mounted on the vehicles in favour of various candidates in the fray for the third phase of polls in Jharkhand finally calmed down on Sunday evening the candidates of different political parties are now resorting to door- to-door campaigning, visiting personally their contact households in order to woo the voters.

Some of the candidates on the other hand, have also decided utilise the time left before the polls for making an appeal to the voters that they must cast their votes on the polling day ultimately leading to an increased voting percentage.

According to the BJP candidate Seema Sharma, who concluded her campaign seeking votes through ‘padyatra’ in the posh MECON colony, will not sit back till the last minute and has decided to meet the individual households personally, who were left unattended during the campaigning.

“This is not the end of campaigning. Rather the real campaigning will start from today as I will now try to meet each and every individual whom I could not meet during these days,” said Sharma. This is time to make personal rapport with the people living in small pockets in various parts of my constituency, added Sharma.

“This is also the time to retrospect what went wrong which could be mended in time before the poll day, besides monitoring and organizing the booth level workers who also plays an important role during the elections,” the BJP candidate said.

Veteran politician and four-time MlA from Ranchi Assembly seat, CP Singh on the other hand, ended his poll campaign at Sarai Tand in Morhabadi. He started the campaigning from Dipti Para near Kucheri in the morning, went to Hatma Basti, then Tikli Para, Ranchi College area and finally concluded at Morhabadi.

BJP candidate from Kanke Jeetu Charan Ram, who also concluded his campaigning at Bodeya in Morhabadi, said that he was amazed to see the enthusiasm of the voters in his constituency who are looking forward for a strong and stable government in the state. “It’s good to see the enthusiasm of the voters,” said Kanke candidate Jeetu Charan Ram.

As the campaign ended today and one more day was left for polling, Ram said that he will be utilizing the day on Monday by doing extensive door to door campaigning appealing the people to recognize the power of their vote and must turn up on the polling booths on Tuesday for voting. “The state, which is already lagging behind, not let it to sink further,” said Ram.

Ram also preferred ‘padyatra’ on the last day at Cheshire Home lane, Shashi Colony and other parts of his constituency in order to make one to one rapport with his voters.

JMM candidate for Kanke Ashok Kumar Nag on the other hand, giving a final touch to his campaigning on Sunday visited most of the places of his constitiuency in the form of motorcycle rally along with his supporters.

“As Kanke constituency is scattered in a vast area, it was not possible to cover it by foot, hence I resorted to motorcycle rally,” said the JMM candidate. Nag, who claims to win the seat over a huge margin, will be using the day on Monday to motivate his workers at the booth level to work hard on the polling day. “I have also asked my workers also to motivate the people so that they must come out of their homes for voting so that the percentage of poll gets increased,” Nag added.

Congress candidate from Ranchi Assembly seat also visited several places like Bhiyan Toli, Shivganj, Marwari Tola, Pari Tola, Bhanu Manzil, Kumhar Toli along with several other places on Sunday. Singh while visiting the places tried to convince the voters that no development work was done by the earlier candidates. Singh also appealed to the voters to vote in his favour so that developmental work could be done here accordingly.

JMM candidate from Hatia Dr Javed Ahmed also organized a motorcycle rally started from Risaldar Nagar, Darji Mohalla, Mani Tola, Rahmat Colony, Hinoo Chowk, Birsa Chowk, Dhurwa, Harmu, and AG More, which finally ended at Kadru.

Ahmed while addressing the gathering at Risaldaar Nagar said that the BJP in the last 10 years did not do any development work in the state. “We will try to compensate the losses made by the BJP in the last 10 years taking the state on the paths of development, if a JMM government is formed in the state,” said Ahmed.
