lions Club dedicated city’s first Cloth Bank at House No 5, Uliyan Main Road, across Aastha Cottage, Kadma.
lions Centennial District Governor of District 322 A lion Rajnish Kumar inaugurated the new facility. Initially the Cloth Bank will operate weekly on every Monday from 3 to 6 in the evening.
On day one, 12 lion members donated clothes and within an hour when the news spread of the opening of lions Cloth Bank, people living in the surroundings came rushing in with children.
"No one was left disheartened and very one was given the choice to select the dress of their liking and take home willingly. The excitement of the children and ladies was very satisfying. They all said that they have never worn such good dress and will use it to go to party and in important functions. Encouraged with the response lions are now planning to open one such Cloth Bank each in all the four corners of Jamshedpur preferably one each at Golmuri, Mango, Jugsalai if they are able to get proper place,” said Kumar. Kadma Centre came up when one new lion member Sarita Roy dedicated one room in her house for this purpose and also volunteered to monitor it with other members of lions Club.
Very soon the Cloth Bank will have Shoe and even Purse Bank for free distribution. lions are running such Cloth Bank in Garhwa, Chaibasa, Chas.
Very soon Ranchi will have one such bank.
