In a swift and precise swooping the latehar police on Wednesday nabbed a TSPC cadre Shankar Pratap with three lakhs of levy cash. Sources said Pratap had received this levy cash from a contractor who is building road in Netarhat.
The cash was hidden in a jhoula .
SP latehar Anoop Birtharey has confirmed the arrest of Shankar with 3 lakhs of levy money kept in a jhoula.
Birtharey said as festive season is on TSPC too does not lag behind in this kind of illegal collection of levy but on Wednesday this splinter outfit of naxals suffered this set back of 3 lakhs of rupees in just one stroke given by police in latehar.
District latehar has a dubious distinction of having all the 6 banned naxal outfits whose prime job is to raise fund by way of extortion called in their lingo the levy.
Birtharey agreeing to this proposition said the security forces continue to give these outfits jolts after jolts as banned outfits like JJMP SJMM etc have been contained men and cash wise both in recent times.
He said the big brother of naxals CPI Maoists have been forced to hole up in jungles of Garu while men of these outfits are daring to move on streets of latehar where the alert and watchful police abort their plan of gulping down the levy money.
