A rumour sweated out the police in Palamu on Tuesday night, that a tractor owner had got the body of a labourer removed from the site of accident at Saharsuwa under Chhaterpur sub-division. The deceased labourer identified as Ghoora Bhuiyan (50), of Gulabjhari village, lost his life while coming under the trolley of the tractor he was sitting on after ramming into a tree.
The people who rushed to the accident site could not find any body there and thus the rumour spread of his disappearance. However, MK Pandey OC Chhaterpur police station discounted it saying the labourer’s body was found in the hospital. There was a rumour of his Bhuiyan’s body being removed by the tractor owner. The police officer denied this claim.
However the police officer agreed that had the body not been found in the hospital, there would have been much greater hue and cry raised then. The labourer died before any medical assistance could have been made available.
