Union Minister of State for Rural Development Upendra Kushwaha has promised to provide house to everyone by year 2022. Kushwaha, a leader of Rashtriya lok Samata Party (RlSP), during his visit to Jharkhand on Sunday also announced that the party intends to contest Assembly elections here. He, however, refused to divulge details regarding the party’s strategy and said that the final decision in this regard will be taken before the elections after consulting the party workers.
“In order to expand the party in the country, we have taken initiatives to set up a party unit here in Jharkhand so that we can reach out the lowest strata of the society,” said Kushwaha. As the political and social conditions in Bihar and Jharkhand are similar having mutual effects on each other in case of any change, Jharkhand has been chosen to start with,” he added.
Referring to Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), Kushwaha claimed that his RlSP is a bigger party than it having three MPs against two seats of the JD(U) in the lok Sabha.“Few politicians had some misunderstandings that they have the undisputed right on politics which, the RlSP has succeeded in clearing the air during last lok Sabha elections,” Kushwaha said.
Similarly, the party will act strongly during the Assembly elections in Jharkhand also,” he added. Kushwaha further claimed that the NDA will perform better in Bihar Assembly elections than it did in the lok Sabha elections. Talking about his Ministry’s vision in the coming years, Kushwaha said that more than 3 crore houses will be constructed for the poor by 2022 and no family will be left without a house of its own.
“As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is serious about providing pure and hygienic water for all, the ministry will provide drinking water for everyone by 2019,” said Kushwaha. Toilets for each household will also be ensured by the year 2019, he added.When asked about the number of toilets to be constructed by the Government, he said that there has to be done a lot in this regard and nothing will be achieved by merely following the data.
Rejecting the acceptance of grand alliance by the people of Bihar in the recent by-polls, Kushwaha said there had been some shortcomings in the strategy adopted by the NDA during the by-polls in Bihar which was en-cashed by the Opposition.Those shortcomings however, have been removed by the NDA after the by-polls and the alliance will again come up with flying colours in Bihar. “Merely on the basis of by-poll results, one cannot make any assessment about the next elections,” he said.
Earlier, a rally organised by the party workers at Patel Maidaan at Harmu, addressed by Kushwaha, witnessed a very low turnout of merely a handful of party supporters.
