Koel Aajeevika Apparel Park is languishing. Women workers have no fabric to stitch. The Koel Aajeevika Apparel Park did profitable business this last July and August for the Tiranga Yatra as it made around 2 lakhs of the national flags and thereafter its around 100 women all from various self help groups called Sakhi Mandal just got out of job. There came no fabric for cutting and stitching.
District programme manager JSLPS Bimlesh Kumar Shukla said the Koel Aajeevika Apparel Park is passing through a bad patch as there is no order for cutting and stitching of any fabric.
Shukla agreed that market demand for our stitching is missing following trends and fashion.
The Koel Aajeevika Apparel Park had made wonderful face masks in thousands during the Covid pandemic. It was then the centre of attention but today it is lying unknown despite a time worn board describing it as Koel Aajeevika Apparel Park in the campus of the Chainpur block in Palamu.
Sources said it needs immediate revival with lots of funding to make it at par with small but recognisable textile making names.
