KN Tripathi accuses Palamu police of nexus with criminals

PNS

Former Congress MlA K N Tripathi has accused the police here of hobnobbing with criminals as this leader said the murder of an MSc student Chandan Singh continues to be unsolved despite a lapse of ten days while Singh’s body was retrieved in Sasaram.

Tripathi said the police acted very slow and indifferently in this case as Singh was kidnapped on November 11 and then he was tortured to death on the intervening night November 11/12 and then on November 12 his body was recovered by GRP Sasaram in Bihar.

He said had the police swung into action fast on the very night of November 11 Singh would not have faced this horrible end of his life.

Asked if he demanded any inquiry into this murder case Tripathi said, "There is no point asking for it. as the police know for what and how Singh was so murdered but for reasons unknown it is not laying hands on the killers. He said this complacency of the police is most worrisome."

He said, "I was right following the family of Singh from November 11 night when he was kidnapped but I did not make it public then that I was in touch with DGP D K Pandey and SP Palamu Patel Mayur for the reason that his captors might harm him because of this pressure which I was building up as the DGP D K Pandey had assured me of pressing CID sleuths into this case but on November 12 Singh was found murdered in Bihar's Sasaram.

Questioning the functioning of the police in Palamu he said the police wasted long hours without doing any thing serious to locate and recover him.

He said ' I give another 24 hours time to police here to catch the killer or killers or I will hit the streets here for the bereaved family which must be told by police that killers of their son are caught and behind the bars under the law of the land'.
