The Karma festival and a cultural programme was held under the aegis of Central Sarna Samiti in the premises of BS College. A total of 35 Khodha and different cultural groups from Ranchi and Gumla also participated in the festival.
Over 10 thousands of people were present during the programme. The chief guests were Bishunpur MlA Chamra linda, lohardaga MlA KK Bhagat and the State president of Congress Sukhdeo Bhagat.
linda said, “The Karma festival plays an important role in keeping alive the civilisation of the Adivasis. This is related to the love of brothers and sisters as well as significance of nature. The fresh blood must come forward to strengthen our culture.”
Sukhdeo Bhagat said, “Our culture is our recognition. We must not go away from this. This festival gives the message of peace and prosperity.”Samiti head Maneer Oraon focused on the importance of this festival.
