After the Government looking unmoved by the protests from the JVM along with other Opposition inside the House, the party has decided to take to the streets the battle on the issues concerning the State. The Babulal Marandi-led JVM has displayed series of programmes to protest demanding removal of top brass in the bureaucracy, altering the existing domicile policy and few others.

A meeting of party central working committee held on Sunday where top leaders including party chief Babulal Marandi, legislative body leader Pradeep Yadav and other senior office bearers met.

“We have decided to organise protests and dharnas on January 30 at all the district headquarters to press our demand removing tainted Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, DGP DK Pandey and ADG Anurag Gupta from their positions. This apart, the protest would also highlight the plights of farmers, JPSC aspirants denied reservation, cheating done with unemployed youths in the name of jobs and police atrocities against land losers,” said party principal general secretary Pradeep Yadav. Also, the JVM unveiled its plan to hold panchayat mahasabha for eight Assembly constituencies falling into Giridih and Koderma districts on February 18 and would go on organising party’s central working committee meet at Bokaro on March 10-11. “The party has decided to go all out against the BJP-AJSU ruling combine looking at their attitude and conduct so far. Despite all round demand, the Govt is sitting on the decision. The State and its affairs are not in the safe hands,” said Marandi in his address. The programme is in sync with what played out in the Assembly on Friday when the all the Opposition parties figuring JMM, JVM, Congress and the left parties had held a joint press conference, organised a protest in the evening at Albert Ekka Chowk and announced to go hand in hand on the potent issue.

“Besides going at personal level, we would also hold joint protests against the programmes and policies of this Government. We are united in our fight against the hardship to the people of the State. This is not a question of any party or its banner. The fight would continue until the Government mends its ways. I think people of the State are also convinced with the demands we are raising inside and outside the Assembly which are just and genuine,” added the MlA.

JVM leaders along with JMM executive president Hemant Soren and Congress MlAs have shared the stage in their protest pressing for the identical demands in recent time which is also perceived as a sign of united Opposition coming up to counter the BJP.
