JVM to hit road against Govt anti-poor policies

PNS

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has decided to organise protests across the State against Government's anti-poor and anti-people policies amid host of problems looming large over the State.

The party would raise deteriorating law and order situation, drought like condition and alleged irregularities in the implementation of food security act.

Addressing a Press conference after party's executive committee meeting on Thursday, JVM legislative body leader Pradeep Yadav blamed the Government for acting with communal vendetta.

"This Government has failed on all the fronts and to cover it up it is raising communal issues and framing innocent persons. The State is also facing drought on its large part and there is no precautionary measure in this line so far. The party would organise protests after October 25 if no action is taken on these burning issues," said the leader.

He referred to incidents taken place at Mango of Jamshedpur, communal tension in Ranchi and lohardaga and detention of Intejar Ali to drive home his point.

"Intejar Ali has been wrongly framed by the police who have taken a dent on his social reputation. We demand from the Government that Rs 25 lakh of compensation to be paid to him and formation of an SIT to investigate the entire matter," added Yadav.

The party has also sought relaxation on farm loan to be given to the farmers in the light of looming drought across the State. "Every farmer should be paid compensation in the tune of Rs 20,000 per acre, seeds for rabi and potato on concessional rates, loan waiver, and fresh loan at 2 per cent, free electricity and subsidized diesel and other assistances."

He also pressed on precautionary measures needed to be taken ahead of festive season and demanded to tighten security in all the religious places, full video recording, CCTV camera installation and tight vigil on miscreants during that period.

Talking about membership drive continuing in the party, Yadav informed that 3 lakh new members have been inducted while the target to make 5 lakh new members would be achieved by October 15.
