JVM meet to assess land stirs

PNS

The executive committee meeting of the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) called on Wednesday at Assembly Hall would test its recent land related stirs taken up across the State. Office bearers of the party and its central leadership would also chalk out future course of action besides, publishing a political resolution for the JVM.

“Critical evaluation of Government policies in terms of land acquisitions, favouring big business houses and oppression of farmers and agitators en mass would come for discussion. The way Government is dealing with agitations done by politicians in the State is alarming in a democracy,” said party vice-president Saba Amhed on Tuesday while counting the issues top on the agenda.

The party would extensively discuss cases slapped against its principal general secretary and Poraiyahaat MlA Pradeep Yadav. The MlA is behind the bars for agitating against land being acquired for Adani Power in Godda.

“He was not even allowed to attend the Assembly session called for GST and not permitted to attend a family function. This is the extremes of autocracy. Pradeep Yadav is not a single person facing such an atrocity in the State. Our leadership would come up with a political resolution in the end exposing the Government,” added Ahmed.

“We have taken up the controversial issues under ‘mati bachao andolan’. But no feedback from the people on these has come to us so far. The party is in need to evaluate these programmes. We want to know the reactions of the people in villages and whether our movement is touching upon them or not. Based on the feedback of our office bearers we would fine tune the agitations and change their direction,” said a general secretary reading out from the agenda set for the meeting.
