Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) and its affiliate bodies organised protest march, staged dharna at Raj Bhawan and handed over a memorandum to Governor Droupadi Murmu on Thursday in order to keep the controversial issues at hand alive. The party once again blamed the ruling BJP coalition for diluting the CNT-SPT laws and for wrongly framing the domicile policy.
In its paper submitted to the Governor the party supremo Baulal Marandi alleged that the policies outlined by the Government in recent times were detrimental to the interests of the locals, especially students.
“We have seen numerous follow-up from the Government matching its intentions behind passing the laws. lands of poor farmers are being taken away in the name of industry and mining forcefully. All those opposing the deeds are being bullied with gun, lathis and false cases. If students do not awake now then their future is gone. This Government is anti-people and our aim is to expose that,” said Babulal Marandi after submitting the memorandum.
Notably the Bills amending the CNT-SPT laws have already been cleared by the Assembly during the Winter Session and are lying with the Governor to being sent to the President via Union Home Ministry. Nevertheless host of parties in Opposition back home including JMM and Congress along with the JVM are against the changes. The parties and some pro-tribal groups have also planned to take the fight to Delhi later this week to make pressure on the Government.
“All the policies of the State Government are anti-people and anti-Jharkhand. None of these are going to help the actual residents of the State and are instead meant for the outsiders. land related policies and changes made in the tenancy acts are suitable to the industrialists only. We are raising our voice against all this and also appeal the Governor to take note to the descent among the people,” said party principal general secretary Pradeep Yadav.
The party was also critical of the domicile policy brought by the Government for recruitments. Pradeep Yadav claimed that host of local youths were being deprived of jobs in the name of domicile certificates and candidates from other States were making entry into the State.
“Our opposition would go on. We would support the cause no matter who is raising this. The JVM has organised protests and dharna on the other parts of the State and after Ranchi we would head towards Delhi to highlight the issue,” said Yadav.
