Pushed into corner following host of senior leaders jettisoning the party and also because despite best of its efforts no amicable pre-poll understanding could be reached with any, the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has come up with aggressive plans ahead of elections. The party has added new names into the list of spokespersons and appointed in-charges in the constituencies who are seen as its probable candidates.
The Wednesday’s central executive committee meeting that has given a go ahead to the idea to fight alone in the State, also stamped few important decisions keeping polls in mind. “The meeting consented to organise ‘Janadesh Sankalp Rallies’ in all the 81 Assembly constituencies to give a fillip to our poll preparedness. Also our leader Babulal Marandi would start his yatra starting from Chaibasa from October 12 which would conclude on October 27 at Madhupur in its first phase. 33 names have also been finalised as Assembly in-charges and most of them may figure into the candidates’ list later on,” said JVM general secretary Pradeep Yadav on Thursday informing about decisions taken in the meeting.
Notable names in the list of 33 are Prakash Ram from latehar, Munna Mallik from Hazaribagh and Alok Chaurasia from Daltonganj. Names for the rest of the constituencies would be announced in couple of phases. This apart, the party also named list of central spokesperson which include Praveen Kumar Singh, KK Poddar, Shakuntala Jaiswal and Aziz A Mubarqui. A ten-member manifesto committee with names likes Stephen Marandi, Shakuntala Jaiswal, KK Poddar and Javed Ahmed has also been formed.
The committee would prepare party’s manifesto for the polls on both the state-level and also constituency wise so that all the relevant central and local issues are included. Final draft manifesto would be presented before the central leadership for its approval.
Nonetheless the posturing, chips are down in the party with series of leaders tendering their resignations that include more than half of its sitting MlAs. Pradeep Yadav, who has been in the eye of the storm as most of the outgoing leaders have blamed him for creating internal mess into the party, accepted that a sense of dissatisfaction had been there.
“Some sort of dissatisfaction may be behind the leaders leaving the party and we are making efforts to remove those away slowly. As far as blaming me for all this, I am ready to sip the poison. But at the same time I would like to mention here that the party is strong enough,” said Yadav.
