Marshghai police on Tuesday arrested juvenile Srikanta Behera on the alleged charge of raping a 14-year-old girl at Baghadia village on November 25, informed IIC Sukanta Kumar Patra.
According to Patra, a girl of Teragaon village had gone to her uncle’s house at Baghadia on the eve of Prathama Asthami. While the girl was going to attend the call of nature, Behera, who was a distant relative of the victim girl, allegedly took nude photo of the girl from behind.
later, he raped the girl by frightening her with a sharp weapon. When the victim girl shouted for help, the accused fled the spot. On November 26, the victim girl’s uncle had lodged an FIR at Marshaghai police station . Acting on the FIR Marshaghai police had registered a case and arrested Behera. He was produced before the CJM court of Kendrapara.
