Even though the State Government has recommended for CBI probe into the suspected murder of Judge Uttam Anand, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by ADG Sanjay Anand Latkar is working to crack the case ahead of it being transferred to the central probe agency.

The SIT, which is in Dhanbad for the last two days, on Sunday too had several rounds of discussions on the case with the team of senior officers and subordinate police officers.

Amidst the ongoing discussions, the ADG, along with City SP R Ramkumar, visited Randhir Verma square once again besides the judges official residence compound twice and also inspected the surrounding of the square as well as the positioning of the CCTV cameras installed at the square. They also visited the crime spot once again today.

This apparently has been done to match timings as well as to track suspected movement of persons to track the daily routine of the deceased judge.

Meanwhile, investigations reveal that poor medical facilities at Sadar Hospital proved to be dear to Judge Anand as there was no doctor to attend him while he was taken there for treatment by some persons after the incident. This hospital is located at a distance of five to six hundred yards from the incident spot.

In another move, Ramdev Lohar, the actual owner of the auto that was used in the crime, was arrested from the Sudarshan area by police. In addition, around 200 persons having criminal history have been picked up for interrogation, said police sources.

In a related move, Sudamdih police station- in- charge Umesh Manjhi has been suspended by SSP for his alleged negligence in duty.
