JSBC chairman and Advocate General Ajit Kumar informed that JSBC members in a meeting held on Monday decided that all bar associations of State would organise general body meeting on February 20 to condole the death of jawans.

He added JSBC members would also meet family members of Vijay Soreng, one of the victims of the incident, at their residence in Gumla.

Kumar told media persons that the terrorist’s attack in Pulwama has shocked the entire nation. The bar associations would hold condolence meeting at their respective offices and court and also voluntarily donate money for dependents of the victims.

He said lawyers would also go out to streets in small groups in their localities and seek donation from people. The amount would be sent to the PM relief fund or to any fund meant for deceased jawans, he said.

Notably, lawyers of High Court had lit candles in front of the photos of the slain jawans a day after the incident took place. The Ranchi District Bar Association had also staged a demonstration to protest the attack.
