After being detained and debunked from the JPSC office on Monday, a delegation of aspirants of JPSC civil service examination met Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday. The examinees apprised the CM about their reservations about 6th JPSC examination PT result which primarily were about higher cut-off for reserved categories than their General counterpart.

During the meeting the CM has assured the candidates about a fair trial after studying the matter. “He has assured us to look into the matter while agreeing to our grievances that how come OBC students scoring higher marks than General category can fail in the PT examination. His response looked positive,” said Ajay Chaudhary, a member of the delegation.

The CM later directed Personnel Department officials to get in touch with the JPSC Chairman, Secretary and Controller of Examination to know their positions. “We wanted to know the process and justification of the selections made for the preliminary test which they have clarified. They have certain rules and guidelines based on which the results have been published. Since the Commission is an autonomous body we cannot direct them anything from outside. The authorities have also assured us to clarify their position before the media once again to clear the doubts,” Principal Secretary of the Department Nidhi Khare replied to The Pioneer’s quarry after the meeting.

The Commission had about a week ago come out with result for the 6th civil services examination which has left many dissatisfied. There are some aspirants who have reportedly scored higher marks than qualified unreserved category students but could figure into the final list. The JPSC had also claimed that reservation policy was not followed in the PT exam as per the rules set and the result declared was beyond any glitch.

The aspirants on the other alleged about the irregularities in the selection process and demanded declaration of category-wise cut-off marks. “They are not doing this since this would expose them completely,” said Chaudhary.
