On the occasion of the commemoration festival organized to recall the historic Congress conference of Ramgarh, Congress National President, Sonia Gandhi’s message read by JPCC Working president, Keshav Mahto Kamlesh. In her message she said that at present India is facing a similar challenge both for the constitutional structure and the benefits gained since independence. She also said that there has been an unprecedented attack by these very regressive elements on the fundamental values of freedom, equality and fraternity and justice, curbing the dignity and freedom of citizens, in such a situation the legacy of the party and the party workers have a moral responsibility to preserve the idea of India as envisaged by the four fathers. Gandhi hoped that the JPCC would take inspiration from the 53rd conference held in Ramgarh in 1940.
Speaking on the occasion he said that the Congress has played an important role in the independence of the Country. “In the struggle for independence of the Country and thereafter, this party has done its duty in development of the Country. Even now the party is following the path shown by the great sons of the Country who played an important role in making the Country strong and great.
“The Congress party has been standing with the farmers since the beginning, but at present the farmers are in crisis due to the BJP-led NDA Government at the Center. The BJP is engaged in dividing the people of the Country, due to the wrong economic policies of the BJP-led Central Government, the Country has gone into recession and the Country's assets are being sold,” said Oraon.
Alam said in his address that before independence all the big leaders of the Congress Party laid the foundation for the development of the Country with dedication and honesty. “The Party leaders are constantly following the path shown by the ancestors. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru showed the same foundation he had laid for the development of agriculture, heavy industry construction, health, engineering, road construction, irrigation, water resources and drinking water facility”, he added.
