JMM wants Babulal Marandi to clear air over Sahu charge

Following allegations leveled by former Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) General Secretary Sunil Sahu regarding the cross voting done by JVM MlAs Pradeep Yadav and Prakash Ram, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has demanded JVM Chief Babulal Marandi to clear his stand on the issue.

Talking to media persons here, JMM Central General Secretary Vinod Pandey added that Marandi must come forward with the actual facts in this regard.

“Sahu clearly alleged that the two JVM MlAs voted in favour of BJP by taking money from them. Cross voting was definitely done by JVM leaders following which Sahu tendered his resignation along with the other eight leaders,” said Pandey. It was a serious allegation made by a party insider and JVM must take it seriously, he said.

“CM in his reaction on June 11, just after the results of RS elections were announced, had specially thanked JVM General Secretary Pradeep Yadav and MlA Prakash Ram for extending their support to the party,” added the JMM leader.

“We also had expressed fear before that there will be a game of power and money during the Rajya Sabha elections, but no action was taken by the Election Commission,” he said. Hence, Marandi must clear that how far the allegations made by Sahu was true, he said.

Even if he was unaware of such activities in his party, he must share it with the media, added Pandey.

Demanding an independent probe into the matter, he said whatever could be done was being done by the Party in this regard. “The matter has also been brought into the Court’s notice,” he said.

“Since, there has been horse trading with misusing the power and money during the RS elections, the Party must clear its stand on the issue,” said the General Secretary.

The ruling party, misusing the power, even prevented JMM MlA Chamra linda coming out of the hospital and put him in jail before the elections so that he could not take part in voting, he said

“If everything had been fair, Party candidate Basant Soren would have definitely won the Rjaya Sabha elections as we had gathered support of all non-BJP parties like Congress and JVM,” said Pandey.
