A day after sensational sexual exploitation allegation popped up against BJP’s Baghmara MLA Dhullu Mahto by a local party woman worker, main Opposition party JMM has expressed doubt over silence maintained by the leadership.
Addressing a press conference on Friday JMM general secretary Suprio Bhattacharya also demanded protection for the lady looking at criminal track record of the MLA.
“The charges are very serious in nature and have been leveled against Dhullu Mahto who has been a strongman. He always remains in police eye and has now turned his eyes to the other. JMM demands full protection to the BJP worker looking at his prior anti-social conduct,” said the JMM leader. Attacking the BJP he went on citing instances of Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir and some other places to charge the party for immoral conducts.
The JMM at the same time also rapped the Government for allowing majority of seats for +2 teachers’ recruitment to go to the ‘outsiders’. “75 per cent of the candidates are from UP, Bihar and other States. The CM and the Education Minister are claiming that there were no qualified candidate locally and it was not possible to prevent outsiders from coming into general category. You can see the provision in other States where just 5 per cent seats into class III and IV are open to outsiders. We believe that if locals go for any violent act against the outsiders coming to join, entire responsibility of that would be with the Government,” said Bhattacharya demanding cancelation of the result declared.
He also demanded redefining locals and for making it only for those who have their traces into the Khatian and not the 1985 cut-off date fixed by the Government. Bhattacharya also termed the action taken by the Government against agitating para teachers as dictatorial.
“The CM is clearly sending out threats to them for slapping criminal sections. Which type of arrogance is this? Does he take law of that for a ride and misuse it against anyone as per his wishes? We demand that the Tuglaqui farman be taken back immediately,” he said.
The party also demanded declaring State famine hit instead of drought hit so that greater amount of relief can come from the Center and also immediate assistance in the form of Rs 25000 to each famers to deal with the situation.
