JMM accuses Govt of 'niwala ghotala'

PNS

Revealing rampant ‘niwala ghotala’ in the State, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has alleged that ration for the month of April 2016 was not distributed among the people in East Singhbhum and was sold out in black under a preplanned conspiracy of district officials.

Talking to media persons here, MlA Kunal Sarangi said that even after one and a half years of the directions given by concerned Minister and Secretary, no action has been taken so far in this regard.

Sarangi further feared that there might be a similar situation all over the State, where approximately grains worth Rs 5 crore disappeared from each of the godowns of State Food Corporation sent to it by Food Corporation of India.

“Not only in East Singhbhum, it is happening everywhere and more than 5 crore of grains are being sold out in black, but no action was taken so far in the last one and a half year,” said Sarangi. last year 15 trucks of grains were black-marketed in Ghatshila alone and the lifting in-charge was forced  to give a receipts of it following which he suffered brain hemorrhage due to stress, he added.

According to Sarangi, as per the biometric system, the beneficiary could be given ration only after 15 days of lifting and hence it poses a problem in giving them grains twice in a month which was being misused by the PDS dealers.
