The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress staged a sit-in across the State against the summons received from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to Chief Minister (CM), Hemant Soren. The workers staged a sit-in in front of the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi and across the State on Saturday in which apart from JMM, workers of Congress and RJD also participated.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion Rajya Sabha MP, Mahua Maji said that the BJP is trying to destabilize the democratic government of Jharkhand. “Former Chief Minister Raghubar Das is also named in the scams that the ED is probing, but why is the ED not interrogating him. There are many other people of BJP who are involved in scams. Cases are also registered against many. Why is the ED not going there?” she added.
State Congress Working president, Bandhu Tirkey said that the BJP is getting the constitutional institutions to work at its behest in the spirit of political vendetta. “How many scams happened in Raghubar Government? After all, why is action not being taken against the accused of those scams? BJP is trying to destabilize the democratically elected government,” he added.
The Enforcement Directorate team is investigating an illegal mining case. In this illegal mining case, the ED had issued summons to Jharkhand Chief Minister, Hemant Soren for questioning, however Soren has not appeared before the ED for questioning and has sought three weeks' time for the ED's interrogation on his behalf. But since the issue of summons, there is a boil among JMM workers and JMM workers are blaming BJP in this whole episode. JMM workers say that BJP is trying to destabilize the current government and is violating the mandate. JMM workers raised slogans of BJP Murdabad and JMM Zindabad.
