Ruling alliance in the State, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress on Wednesday attacked the Central Government for COVID vaccine crisis.
Addressing the media person in the State Capital Health Minister, Banna Gupta said that on March 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced in front of the country that India would become a vaccine hub for the whole world, and countries around the world would be provided with the Covid-19 vaccine but now there is a shortage of vaccine in the Country itself. “This is the reason why the corona vaccination center in backward States like Jharkhand is almost on the verge of closure now. Due to the lack of vaccine, the Central Government has started talking about taking the second dose in the first 4 weeks, 6 weeks and 12 to 16 weeks,” he added.
The Health Minister said that many vaccination centres in the State are on the verge of closure, the Prime Minister has forgotten states like Jharkhand are also part of the Country and the immortal martyrs here have also played a big role in the freedom struggle of the Country. He appealed to the BJP MPs to talk to the Prime Minister and other central leaders regarding the availability of the vaccine, if necessary, they will also be ready to hold the feet of BJP MPs.
Gupta said that BJP is engaged in propaganda regarding vaccination. “On one hand a small number of vaccines are being provided to states like Jharkhand, on the other hand this baseless publicity is also being done, where maximum vaccine is being wasted. Whereas the truth is to the contrary Jharkhand has less wastage than the National average,” he added.
On the other hand addressing a press meet JMM Spokesperson, Supriyo Bhattacharya, spoke fiercely against the Central Government and said that the availability of more than 86 lakh vaccines was reported in the State. It was expected that by the end of the year 118 crore people of the Country would get the vaccine, he added.
“But unfortunately, within a week, the whole Country became vaccine-free. Jharkhand is always being cheated by the Central Government sometimes about the vaccine and sometimes about the money,” said Bhattacharya.
The party Spokesperson said that He said that the Center has always been biased with Jharkhand regarding giving the vaccine and the State currently requires 3 lakh vaccine doses every day. He said that in June, 11 lakh less vaccine doses were given to Jharkhand. The State required 90 lakh vaccine doses, but was given only 89,000 doses, he added.
