In an attempt to clear hurdles in the way of formation of  20-Point committees on Wednesday, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)’s senior leaders held a meeting and chalked out a formula. The District 20-Sutri committees will be divided among alliance partners in the ratio of 13:10 and 1.

The meeting was held under the leadership of senior JMM Leader, Stephen Marandi in presence of Transport Minister Champai Soren, Sports Minister, Hafizul Hasan, MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Jiga Horo, Mathura Prasad Mahato and General Secretary Vinod Pandey were present in the meeting.

Pandey informed that it has been decided that in 13 districts, the committees of the districts will come in the account of JMM, 10 in the account of Congress and one district committee will come in the account of RJD. A final decision is yet to be taken on this. It has also been suggested that in the districts where the Ministers belonging to the party are in-charge, the fellow party should be given the post of vice-president. Similarly, there has been a discussion on giving the responsibility of the block president to the leader-worker of the assembly constituency where the coalition parties have won in the blocks,” he added.

“There are hurdles where the coalition parties have been in second place. The formula is being worked out that the said party should be given a post there. RJD has staked claim on seven seats and 29 blocks. RJD has pressed for this, although JMM says that the participation of all parties will be decided according to the share. There will be no problem in this. After the formula is decided, senior leaders of JMM, Congress and RJD will announce it,” said Pandey.

After the meeting while talking to media persons, Senior JMM Leader and Transport Minister Champai Soren said that JMM has decided a formula, which will be placed before the party Supremo Shibu Soren and Chief Minister Hemant Soren. He said that soon a meeting will be held with all the parties of the Grand Alliance and a 20-Sutri committee will be formed. He said that this committee would be formed with the consent of all the parties.

The party General Secretary said that on the occasion of the completion of one year of the Hemant Government, it was decided that the posts of 20-Sutri committees would be divided among the constituent parties of the ruling coalition. This process was to be completed in January, but the second wave of Corona affected it, he added.

“The Block Committee will be formed of nine people. It will consist of a chairman, a vice-chairman and seven members. There are more than two hundred and fifty blocks in Jharkhand. The effort of the Grand Alliance is to form a 20-point committee in the first phase and make space for about two and a half thousand workers,” said Pandey.
