Minister of Sports and Culture Amar Kumar Bauri while referring to Swami Vivekananda said that the noted social thinker had expressed his complete confidence in the youth of this country about 50 years before the end of Colonial Rule.

“His success mantras aimed at igniting young minds which is the prerequisite for development,” said Bauri addressing a gathering at the unveiling session of logos for the first ‘Yuvotsav’ in going to be organised in the State. The celebration would be weeklong and a remembrance of Swami Vivekananda.

Bauri, on the occasion, reminded students of the Swami’s teachings. “We all are fully aware of the power of the youth of every big or small city and their role-playing in shaping up the country. To celebrate this spirit of youth, like several states in India, we have organised this six-day event at the Morabadi Ground from January 12 for the first time in the history,” said Bauri.

He stressed on the fact that sports and extra-curricular activities have a significant role in shaping up youth’s overall development. “We have several programmes being organised and over 5000 students will participate and compete at various levels in this event. Sports like cycling, wrestling, kabbadi and kho-kho will bring out the best performers to the fore and this would help us encourage them to participate in various tournaments on national as well as international levels,” added Bauri.

Bauri also unveiled the official logo for Yuvotsav-let’s inspire the youth, logo for Aagaaz-an inter-college march past programme, Rang De Basanti, a work shop on motivational speech for young leaders and entrepreneurs, logo for Gyan Manthan-a kite-flying competition, Khel Mein, the sports competition programme, Taare Zameen Par, a sit and draw competition and the Rock fest, a musical band competition. He also unveiled the Airtel Ran-O-Thon’s logo as well as the official website for the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, Jharkhand.
