The handicraft and other stalls set up by artisans from the State have drawn huge crowds at the India International Trade Fair (IITF), New Delhi. The stalls have been set up by Jharcraft and Jharkhand Khadi Board. Other stalls set up by Government owned industries as well as private industries have also drawn good response from the visitors.
“Jharkhand pavilion has so far received good response from the visitors. Thanks to the broad theme of –Inclusive growth- we have been able to showcase our rich culture at the trade fair,” said D K Sharma, an Industry department representative from Jharkhand.
While the culture and tradition grabbed eyeballs at the fair, the show stopper for Jharkhand was the car developed by National Institute of Foundry & Forge.
“The model developed by the students attracted people,” added Sharma.
Interestingly, the theme depicted the gradual growth of residents of the state and how from a shanty people became inhabitants of multi-dwelling units.
Jharkhand which is known for its tribes has also gained popularity at the IITF because of the authentic tribal jewelry which became a centre of attraction for people flocking the fair. Notably, industrial entities like- TATA, BSl, Jindal Steel and Power limited, Adhunik Power & Steel, department of Mines & Geology, Jharkhand State Electricity Board and Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency are among the stalls that attracted the visitors.
The Jharkhand pavilion is likely to attract more visitors from tomorrow as the entry fee is likely to be lowered.
The entry fee between November 14 and 18 is usually fixed at Rs 400 which is brought down to Rs 50 after a gap of four days.
