Junior Chamber International opened the 20th version of their annual trade fair, Expo Utsav-2015, with a greener point of view on Thursday.
Apart from the many stalls, another thing that grabs the visitors’ attention are the electric rickshaws around the exhibition campus. They run between Albert Ekka Chowk and the venue at Morhabadi Ground, taking and dropping visitors.
Along with this, there has been a ‘Best from Waste’ competition planned for children on Friday at the Expo. The participants will be asked to make something decorative or useful from garbage.
The trade exhibition was inaugurated by Additional Director General (Special Branch) Anurag Gupta who met with the entrepreneurs showcasing their goods at the Expo and appreciated them.
For the second time, the Pink Hanger, a pavilion exclusively for female entrepreneurs to promote them, was seen at the Expo. Stalls at the hanger showcasing items of ladies clothing, make-up and jewellery attracted crowds, comprising mostly of women. Visitors also seemed inclined towards the auto section in the Expo which showcased new and popular vehicles from various auto manufacturers. Around 300 stalls showcasing electronics, electrical appliances, home decor, construction, apparels, and much more have been set up at the Expo for the shoppers of Ranchi to choose from.
A competition of rock bands was also organised on the first day of the Expo. Many other cultural events are set to follow during the five-day long trade fair.
