A Jharkhand Armed Force cop shot himself in his stomach at JAP-4 in Bokaro Steel City last night. According to police, Roshan Bhengra shot himself in his stomach while he was on Magazine duty last night. Soon after the incident, Bhengra was rushed to the Bokaro General Hospital where after he was shifted into Critical Care Unit (CCU), police said.
Bhengra had a duty at JAP-4 armory (Magazine) last night. He rushed there and wanted to take arms handover from the in-charge. As he was drunk heavily, so the in-charge refused to hand over the weapon, said Madhu Kachhap Commandant JAP.
“Later he picked the rifle of another soldier and shot him in his stomach,” he added.
The reason behind the incident could be ascertained as he is not in a position to speak yet, said Commandant. But in prima-facie it seems that Bhengra was heavily drunk and shot himself under the influence of alcohol, said Kachhap
Earlier in November 2018, when Bhengra was posted at Pangur in Simdega he had open fired over 200 rounds from his service arms under the influence of alcohol and after he was suspended, sources said.
