Candidates for the post of Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP) constables on Monday staged protest before the State Crime Investigation Department (CID) office in Ranchi against delay in release of their final results for the exam taken in the year 2013 demanding death for them. The candidates also threatened to hang themselves before the CID office if the results were not released on August 27, as promised by CID officials.

“We will hang ourselves on August 28 if the results are not declared on August 27, said one of the candidate Gokul Pandey. Our friend Haider of Jamtara even tried to hang himself from a tree but was saved by ADG Rezi Dung Dung, who also assured us that the results will be out by August 27,” said Pandey.

As many as 172 candidates coming from all the 24 districts of Jharkhand protested before the CID office in Ranchi demanding immediate release of results.

Results for the exams taken for Jamshedpur and Hazaribagh have already been announced while the result of Tatisilwai (JAP - II) and Dhanbad (JAP - III) are yet to be announced by the CID, said Pandey.

“When asked for the delay in the announcement of results, the officials made an excuse that no one has taken charge after the death of Pakur SP Amarjeet Balihar, who got killed in a Naxal-ambush in July last year while returning to Pakur after attending a meeting in Dumka,” said Pandey.

“But we have information that Amol Venukant Homkar has taken the charge,” he said.

Following the exams taken in the year 2013, a total of 228 candidates are said to have cleared the physical tests while the publication of final results have not been declared so far infuriating the successful candidates.
