MP Ajoy Kumar has announced his vision for undertaking plantation of 80 lakhs trees between 2014-20 in his constituency.
Addressing the media he said he is concerned over the green cover of the city and has planned to embark on a green drive. If everything goes as planned within two months will witness plantation of trees, landscaping activities.
Kumar said that this stretch of road is the entry point to the city from Station and such scenes of garbage apart from health hazards also creates a bad image about the city amongst visitors. He also is in talks with the authorities to undertake a cleanliness drive.
Kumar has held talks with the divisional railway manager Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway citing the health hazards posed to the masses due to garbage lying unattended on this stretch of land and about plans to convert it into a park.
Shedding more light on his project, the JVM MP went on to add that plans have been made for construction of 400 ponds out of which work will commence soon.
“Yes we are working over the project, which is very ambitious for us. If we achieve success than probably from the next season we would encourage more farmers to take up vegetable plantation for commercial purpose,” he noted.
The medical call center facility started by the MP in the month of April this year has also entered into tie-up with Chitaranjan National Cancer Institute (Calcutta), Jamshedpur Eye Hospital and Purnima Netralaya (at Jamshedpur) and Awadh Dental Hospital (Jamshedpur) for free medical consultancy.
