PNS

Chief Minister Raghubar Das said on Wednesday that air-strips will be developed under Regional Connectivity Scheme 2016. State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Government in this regard. This will increase activities in small towns, boost industries and create jobs for the people.

Reviewing air-connectivity cases with Union Civil Aviation Minister for State Jayant Sinha, he said that the PM wanted small towns to be air-connected. He said that land filling would be started soon to construct airport in Deoghar and the tenders would be floated in a month.

“Flight services are expected to be started between Jamshedpur and Bokaro under RCS in six months, because both the cities already have air-stripes. `2,500 will be charged for flying up to 500-600 km. Viability Gap Funding (VGF) has been considered for aircraft operators,” Sinha said.

He added that frequencies between Ranchi to Kolkata and Hyderabad would also be increased. Sinha said that matters related to expansion and solution of problems of Dumka, Ranchi, Hazaribag and Daltonganj were being considered seriously and initiatives were being taken.

Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma, Additional Chief Secretary RK Srivastava, Development Commissioner Amit Khare, Principal Secretary to the CM Sanjay Kumar and other senior officers were present on this occasion.
