President of the Jharkhand Pradesh Professional Congress Committee, Aditya Vikram Jaiswal has written a letter to the Minister of Finance, Rameshwar Oraon demanding that the salons and parlors be closed for six months.

Through the letter, he said that about 65 thousand people are facing financial crisis due to the closure of salons and beauty parlors in the state so far. Drawing the attention of Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, Jaiswal said, “In our State about 65 thousand people were able to earn through salon and parlor business, but to prevent the infection of Covid-19, the government has announced lockdown and unlock for the last six months.

Due to the lockdown and unlock, the barber (Thakur) class has broken down financially. The salon and beauty parlor operators have been completely unable to pay the rent of the shop and the house due to the closure of business for six months. They also have lost their accumulated capital, so they are not even lending them any money from the market,” he said. “I want to inform you that the Barber Association had earlier asked the Chief Minister to ask for permission to open salons, at that time the CM had said that it would be considered to open soon, he had also asked for financial help. But, the State Barbers’ Association has not received any help yet and is still hopeful,” said Jaiswal.

He further urged on behalf of the members of Nai Sangh that the salons, beauty parlor shops should also be allowed to open in the same way as the State government has allowed opening textile, shoe shops under the online process.

As a salon operator's precaution, the use of napkins and disposable items should be done and haircutting and shaving with masks, sanitizers, globes should be done.
