Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC is in the last leg of preparations for conducting the Jharkhand Teachers Eligibility Test (JTET) examination on November 20 after a gap of four years. Officials have even claimed to declare the second JTET recruitment test result within three weeks of conducting the examination. The results are likely to be declared on December 10.

“Including the State Capital, eight other districts have been selected as the main examination centres which include Jamshedpur, Chaibasa, lohardaga, Hazaribagh, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Dumka and Deoghar. In Ranchi alone 82 examination centres have been demarcated with all essential facilities for JTET exam,” said JAC Chairperson, Arvind Prasad Singh.

Approximately, 2.52 lakh applicants have applied for both primary and middle school teacher’s job profile from Jharkhand. Notably, the first JTET examination was conducted in 2012. For qualifying the examination, a general category student has to score a minimum of 60 per cent marks while the SC/ST and OBC students need at least 52 per cent marks.

The question paper will be set up both in English, Hindi languages and it will have only multiple choice questions (MCQ). The two and a half hour examination will have 150 questions for 150 marks, the decision has been considered by the department of School Education and literacy after seeking the revised central teachers eligibility test (CTET) norms. Earlier, only one and a half hour was given to a candidate for completing the answer sheet.

“In the first sitting scheduled from 10 AM to 12:30 PM, all primary teacher applicants will take the examination at different centres whereas those appearing for middle school test will take exam in second shift scheduled from 1:30 PM to 4 PM. For recruitment of Urdu assistant teachers, the questions will be set up in Urdu and English as well, while for Hindi assistant teacher questions will be set in Hindi and English,” added Singh.

Considering the security aspects none of the eligible candidates have been given their home centres for taking the examination. Following the guidelines, all candidates have to fill the OMR sheet using only black and blue ball pen. Candidates for their convenience can also take the carbon copy sheet of OMR with them. No electronic gadgets will be allowed inside the examination centres.

“After two three days JAC will release the answers of all the queries asked in the examination for both primary and middle school teaching staffs on its official website. Candidates can tally their answers as the carbon sheet will be available with them. A workshop too has been successfully conducted with all the nine districts DEOs and invigilators few days back,” Singh pointed out.
