ISM passouts grab jobs in pvt firms

PNS

The passout batches of Institute of Science and Management (ISM), Ranchi have grabbed placements in best corporate houses with a salary package ranging between Rs3 lakhs to Rs5 lakhs.

Making the announcement, the B-School’s Executive Vice-Chairman RN Singh during a media interaction, on Friday, said that they are the second best management institute in Jharkhand to mark 100 per cent placement record after XlRI Jamshedpur.

Speaking in details, Singh said, “Out of the 60 students of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management, 80 percent have been placed in organizations like Voltas limited, TCI, Future Groups, SlC India, Taj Group, Just Dial, Taurian World School and Berger Paints. Abhishek Kumar has got the highest salary package per annum of around Rs5 lakh per annum by Voltas.”

“Out of the 90 students from Hotel Management courses, including degree and diploma, 100 percent students are placed in Grand Oberoi Kolkata, Hyatt, The Westin, ITC Grand Chola and Starwood. The highest pay package here is Rs 3 lakh per annum by Grand Oberoi to Sylvester D Souza,” he added.

Overall, 30 per cent students from these outgoing batches have got more than one job. ISM Registrar GD Gulaab said that some of the students have even received job offers from three companies.

“Management is not satisfied from the placement packages. But, noticing the bad condition of the present employment scenario, we make a credit in granting jobs to majority of our students. The 20 percent placement of PGDM will also be done soon as companies like Vodafone are already conducting campus interviews for our students,” maintained Singh and Gulaab.

Asked about the internships, the officials informed that students have gone to Voltas, JK Tyres, SlC, TCI and Karvy. “An intern Priyank has already been given appointment letter to join the organization after training,” said Gulaab.

Explaining on why the administration was unable to tie-up with government organisations, the officials said that they did not want their students to remain in “high-hopes” because placements here are confirmed only after clearing written examinations.

Notably, ISM admits five percent of below poverty line students under Government’s free education scheme

every year.
