Water crisis and poor health facilities are among a few of the many problems being faced by the residents of Irgutoli situated in Ward number 27.

Former secretary of State Congress party, Aditya Vikram Jaiswal along with other leaders and party workers visited the area on Sunday and heard the problems of the residents.

Karmi Tirkey, a resident said, "We are facing major water crisis for many days. We have to travel far to fetch drinking water. There is no facility of toilets and power cuts are also very frequent."

Jaiswal assured Tirkey and other residents that he will help them solve all these problems.

"BJP government was not able to provide the basic facilities to the poor of the State. BJP talks about development only through government data and advertisement but is far away from the ground reality," he said.

Taking a jibe on the State Urban Development Minister, Jaiswal said that the poor citizens of Ranchi have not seen development in the last 25 years; it is high time that the minister wakes from his slumber. "Monsoon has started and there is garbage and clogged drain across the city but both the municipal corporation and the minster are insensitive towards the issue," he said.

Jaiswal demanded cleanliness in Ranchi, identification of areas facing water crisis and providing water there, construction of toilets in slum areas, unclogging of drains, spraying bleaching powder and use of fogging machines across the State Capital from the Urban Development Minister.

"If these demands are not fulfilled the Congress party, as an opposition, will step out on roads to protest and the government will be responsible for this," he said.
