India and China have the largest number of people who are suffering from heart failure. Heart failure is caused as the synchronisation of heart is lost. If anyone feels shortness in breathing then it is most of the times due to problem in heart. With the help of CRT and ICD, the problem of heart failure can be cured.
“CRT is a device which helps the heart pump enough blood to fulfil the requirement of body,” said Director of Institute of Cardiac Sciences of Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Superspecialty Hospital Dr Deepak Gupta while interacting with the media persons in Ranchi on Monday.
Illustrating further Dr Swee Chong, SEOW Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing at National University Heart Centre, Singapore said “Heart failure has grown as an epidemic around the world. We need a specialised team to tackle the problem and in addition to that a specialised medical clinic equipped with new technology to save life,” said during a press conference at Capitol Hill which was organized by Bhagwan Mahavir Medica Superspecialty Hospital on Monday.
Dr Swee further explained, “Heart failure and Heart attack is two different problems of heart. Heart failure is like trying to pull a big car with small engine. It occurs when the heart is not pumping enough blood to meet the demand of the body. The symptoms of heart failure can be easily identified. If you easily get tired, have trouble in breathing and experience swelling then you should immediately consult cardiologist for a heart check up.”
Dr Swee is a known cardiologist and hold extensive experience in pertaining training and education on device based management of cardiac diseases around the world.
He moves around the world and impart knowledge and aware people about the treatment of heart failure so that more lives can be saved. He visited Ranchi for the purpose of knowledge sharing and to explain the situation of heart diseases in his country.
