To supply hot and fresh food for school children, the government has decided to construct a centralized centre. To complete this project India’s 5th Akshay Patra kitchen is being built in Demotand of the Hazaribag district. This will be ready in the month of December. With the help of this centre near about one lakh school going children will get hot and fresh food in the 565 schools of the district.

With the efforts of former union minister and Hazaribag Member of Parliament Jayant Sinha the Central government has sanctioned this plan for the Hazaribag district. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Akshay Patra foundation and DSE (District Superintendent of Education) in the year 2017.

The cost of the project is Rs 22 crores and work is in progress under the supervision of Akshay Patra. The supply of the food to the school children will be started from the next session of 2023. The Akshay Patra officials said that the food will be cooked with a fully high-tech system.

The vehicles, which will be used to carry the food to the schools, have the capacity to keep food hot for four hours. The wall of the kitchen room will be constructed with special bricks, which are ten times the size of the normal bricks.

Hazaribag MP Jayant Sinha has visited the building. He has instructed that the construction work must be completed in the last month of this year. He has shown satisfaction over the construction work of the building.
