Tourism Industry on revival: IRCTC

Before Covid 19, the growth of Inbound, Outbound and Domestic tours was at peak and Tourism industry was showing significant growth. Due to lockdown all commercial activities came to a halt and Tourism industry was also not the exception. Tourism Industry was badly hit due to the Covid impact and is still struggling to revive. In this toughest scenario, IRCTC has taken a lead and launched different domestic tour packages by tourists trains as well as Air mode from its offices across India. IRCTC is getting the tremendous response of the public and people are coming in large numbers to book the IRCTC Tour Packages. Bharat Darshan train from Varanasi to Jyotirling yatra started on 10th Jan with 600 booked tourists. Another train from Raxaul, Bihar is scheduled on 31st Jan for south India and more than 500 seats are booked. Pilgrim spl train from Jalandhar for Jyotirlinga tour on 27th Jan booked by more than 600 pax. Other tours from the East, South and Western part, planned by IRCTC are also getting great patronage from the public.

‘Govt trying to sabotage farmers’ protest’

Senior Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay said that the events on January 26 indicate a dangerous conspiracy and clearly show machination the Government has done, to sabotage the Farmers’ protests. “A faction, not part of 'Sanyukt Kisan Morcha' has been touted as representing the Farmers. It is now evident that Deep Sidhu has been used as a ploy to discredit and sabotage farmer protests. Police inaction, the ease with which the touts got access to Lal Quila ramparts and the stealth with which touts escaped the scene after rousing the flame- all of this indicates "complicity". This is filthy politics that has become the brand of the ruling dispensation. No Mr. Prime Minister, you will not be able to subvert the genuine and legitimate movement of the Farmers. They have shed their sweat and have sacrificed their lives- it will not be wasted so easily. It is a sacrilege to play foul with simple and well-meaning Farmers. The country has been witness to the mean tactics and will not forgive the perpetrators,” he said.
