Change in Train operation at DBG-SPJ section
In view of the rising level of flood water on Rail bridge no.01 between Muktapur-Samastipur station (Down line) of Darbhanga-Samastipur railway section of Samastipur division the train operation on the middle down of Samastipur-Muktapur has been suspended in view of safety and passenger safety. Due to suspension of train operations on down line, several trains have been diverted/cancelled/partially terminated on July 10, 2021: The trains include 05554 Jaynagar – Bhagalpur special train will remain canceled. 01062 Jaynagar – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Special train will run on converted route Darbhanga – Sitamarhi – Muzaffarpur. 03186 Jaynagar – Sealdah special train will run on the converted route Darbhanga – Sitamarhi – Muzaffarpur – Samastipur. 05211 Darbhanga-Amritsar Special train will be diverted via Darbhanga-Sitamarhi-Sikta-Narkatiyaganj. 03044 Raxaul - Howrah Special train will run on the converted route via Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur-Samastipur. 03226 Rajendra Nagar Terminal – Jaynagar Special train will be partially terminated at Samastipur station. 03225 Jaynagar – Rajendra Nagar Terminal Special train will leave from Samastipur station for Rajendra Nagar Terminal.
AG Family distributes food among needy
On behalf of the Accountant General family, in view of the problems of food of the people attending patients at RIMS, cooked food was distributed for the families of the patients undergoing treatment at RIMS on Saturday. About 340 people were distributed food in the evening. The students of Bharat Sevashram Sangh helped the Accountant General's family in distributing food.
Cong demands regular trains, restoring facilities
District Congress president BP Singh in a letter to Rail Minister Ashwani Vais has demanded for plying of regular trains instead of special trains so that people may get relief from paying high fare for travel. Special trains are being operated without adequate facilities but the department is charging high fares in the name of Covid facility.
The letter was sent to the minister after discussing it during the district committee meeting.
He also demanded for starting operation of passenger trains in the larger interest of rural passengers. Singh also demanded for restoring the facilities of senior citizens on all trains that were available earlier.
