Bokaro Steel Management under the guidance of Director Incharge (DIC) BSL Amarendu Prakash, is making continuous efforts to improve the civic amenities of the township area. Under this, repair of main roads of townships, repair of street roads in sectors, arrangement of LED lights in main roads, Street intersections, maintenance of houses, cleaning of drainage system etc. are mainly included and under prime actions of exponential improvement lead from front by CGM Township B.S Popli. In the last months, the repair work of most of the street roads in Sector- 1,2,3,4 and 5 has been completed and the work of repairing the remaining 20 kms of street roads in these sectors is planned to be started after monsoon seeking work constraints. In this episode plan has also been made to repair about 70 km of street road in Sector 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12, which will be started after the monsoon. Apart from this, there is also a plan to repair the remaining 60 km of major roads of the township, which is trying to be implemented in this financial year.
Thus overall initiatives are being taken to repair almost the entire road network of the township, the results of which will be visible soon and almost a glimpse started reflecting in many areas. Similarly, the plan for comprehensive maintenance of the city's drainage system has also been targeted to be completed before the next monsoon. According to the survey done in this direction, maintenance and cleaning of about 150 km of existing drainage line, 50 km of new drainage and 50 km of culvert are planned. Also comprehensive maintenance work of 460 blocks of Sector 4E, 4F and 4G will be started, along with the focus will also be on the maintenance of buildings identified in other sectors including Sector 12.
For better lighting in the township, 4000 LED lights were installed last year and 3500 LED fixtures have been installed so far this year. This year 3000 more LED fixtures and tubes will be installed. Similarly, in the places where there is a street light pole but the street light was not lit, LED tube light is being installed in a systematic manner at present. In future, these places will be illuminated by installing LED fixtures in 888 octagonal poles. So far, 3 new sub-stations have been built for stable power supply in the township while 39 more sub-stations are planned. Also 100 high mast towers have been installed and 30 more towers are planned for better illumination at the city central points.
