The erratic weather conditions being experienced across Jharkhand are likely to continue for the next few days. Residents across the State need to brace themselves as the mercury level is expected to drop by two to four degree Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, the overcast skies being witnessed will be clear from the morning of February 7,thus bringing down the minimum temperature levels. Dry weather conditions will prevail across the State.
The Meteorological Centre Ranchi has also issued a warning of cold wave in the northern and central districts including Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Koderma, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Ramgarh, Gumla, Bokaro, Hazaribagh and Giridih for February 7. The north western and south western districts can witness a cold wave on February 8.
“In the next few days, there will be a drop in the minimum temperature levels by two to four degree Celsius and the north westerly wind pattern will again become active. From February 9 onwards, it is being predicted that there will be a gradual rise in the temperature levels across the State. This will be due to the presence of a feeble western disturbance which is likely to affect the higher reaches of Jammu- Kashmir and Ladakh from February 8,” said Deputy Director, MET Centre Ranchi Abhishek Anand.
The weathermen further stated that there will mist and fog in the early morning hours in some parts of the State.
As per the bulletin released by the MET Centre Ranchi on February 6, in the past 24 hours, the lowest temperature was recorded in Chaibasa at 9.8 degree Celsius which is 3.5 degrees below normal while Jamshedpur was observed at 11.8 degree Celsius which is 2.7 degrees below normal.
The minimum temperature in the State capital was 1.7 notches above normal at 13.2 degrees while Daltonganj and Bokaro were at 14.1 and 13.1 degrees which is 3.2 and 5 degrees above normal respectively.
The communiqué further stated that from February 7 to February 10, the minimum temperature in Ranchi and its surrounding areas will be at 10- 11 degrees while the maximum temperature will be at 26- 27 degree Celsius.
