IISCO Steel Plant has won the coveted Ispat Suraksha Puraskar amongst Integrated Steel Plants for achieving “No Fatal Accident” during calendar years 2012 and 2013 in four different zones of operations. Executive-in-charge I C Sahu while congratulating the team members lead by Ram Gopal, GM (Services) urged to take safety at ISP to new dimensions. He hoped that ISP will soon turn to be a “Zero Accident Plant” in all spheres. “This has set an example for all of us to follow” he remarked during the meeting.
The first zone in which ISP has been awarded is the Centralised Maintenance, Utilities, Services, Rail, Road and Traffic Zone. The second zone is the Blast Furnaces, Slag Granulation Plant, Sinter Plants and Raw Materials Zone while Coal, Coke and Chemical Zone is the third one. Continuing the winning streak, the Rolling Mills Zone has also bagged Ispat Suraksha Puraskar for achieving “No Fatal Accident” during calendar years 2012 and 2013. The awards were presented by Joint Committee on Safety, Health and Environment in the Steel Industry, a pioneer in the field.
