Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) is all set to offer scholarship to students of IIMC and also help them in case of medical crisis. Addressing the annual chapter meet of Jharkhand chapter of IIMCAA, the association’s National President Prasad Sanyal said on Saturday that the national body has made a new initiative to provide for medical assistance for the students in the crisis and will also start scholarships for the students of the institute from next year.
Speaking during the programme, Sanyal said that IIMCAA is continuously expanding itself and apart from various cities of India, its chapters have started in Singapore, Nepal, Bangladesh, UAE and Uzbekistan. Organizational Secretary Ritesh Verma said that IIMCAA has made a new initiative and for the last several years and it also offers awards for alumni in 35 categories every year.
The annual meeting of the Jharkhand Chapter of IIMCAA was organized with much pomp and show here on Saturday. Former Organizational Secretary Vijay Pandey and Executive Member Afzal Alam were also present on the occasion. Nearly two dozen alumni of the institute, including media personnel working in different institutes of Jharkhand, teachers of universities and public relations officers working in several companies, gathered on this occasion and shared their old memories and experiences.
On this occasion, when asked to speak about the experience of the first day of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, many members became emotional, reliving their memories related to the institution. But, there was uniformity in all that the days spent in the institute were a golden time of their life and the Institute not only gave them a big platform but also prepared to do something better in life.
IIMCAA, Jharkhand Chapter has been active in the State for many years and from time to time, they continue to make positive contributions in many social activities. This includes distribution of books, stationery to children in need and serving them.
On this occasion, IIMCAA, Jharkhand chapter president Manoj Kumar, Vice President Amit Gupta, Vice President Dr. Dev Vrat Singh, General Secretary Pranav Pratyush Das, Treasurer Kumar Rajesh, Organisation Secretary Pooja Oraon, Anupam Rana, Manisha Singh, Manish Gupta, Roshan Kumar, Santosh Oraon, Ranjit Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Omkar Pandey, Vivekanand Singh, Shambhunath, Anand Dutt, Manmohan Singh, Archana Gupta were present.
