Good news for the students who are planning to go other cities for pursuing the Company Secretary course, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) will open its three study centres in Jharkhand to provide classroom courses for the students of the State.
Addressing a press meet after organising its Convocation 2019 for the eastern region on Saturday in Ranchi, ICSI president CS Ranjeet Pandey said that the institute is planning to open its study centres at three different cities of the State to provide classroom courses for Company Secretary Courses for the students of the State.
“The Institute is planning to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a leading University to felicitate a student who pursuing graduation in Commerce course and secure topped rank in the university will be awarded by the Institute in which the Institute will give a gold medal to the student and also give a certificate of appreciation. Similar MoU signed with Ranchi, Indian Institute of Management (IIM),” said Pandey
ICSI Ranchi Chapter organise the convocation to award Associate Membership of the Institute to the newly qualified CS members. Around 60 members attended the convocation.
Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest of the convocation Governor Jharkhand, Droupadi Murmu said that it is good initiative of the institute and will provide new atmosphere for those students of the State who wants to become company secretary. She emphasised the role of parents and family in shaping the journey of a student to a professional and said that it is not only a proud day for the new members but also the full family’s forbearance and support behind the student has become successful.
Speaking on the occasion Pandey said that a bright future beckons to the Company Secretaries and welcomed all the new members to the expanding family of Company Secretaries.
He urged the students to follow the path of truth and ethics in their future endeavours and guide the corporate world on corporate Governance and compliances.
The ICSI conducts Convocation twice every year to award the Certificate of Membership to newly qualified members and welcome them to the CS fraternity and foster a sense of belongingness to the profession and the
Institute.
