The ICDS centres in the State will be getting pulses so that the children attending them remain untouched by malnutrition. The announcement was made by Food and Civil Supplies department Minister Saryu Roy during the inaugural session of two-day congregation of Non-Government organisations under Action Against Mal-nutrition (AAM) on Thursday.
“Women and children only need pulses and food grains to maintain their health. Keeping this in mind, we need to better manage our agricultural produce. State Government is making efforts in this direction. A new directorate has been formed in order to fight malnutrition in the State,” said Roy.
