The Hazaribagh police has nabbed JPC sub-zonal commander Buddhan Ganjhu alias Rajesh, a resident of Jhagarbandh Bendi village of Katkamsandi block. Police has also arrested ex-area commander of JPC Damodar alias Sagar Bhuiyan. SP Manoj Kaushik neither confirmed nor refuted about these arrests.
As per police sources both Buddhan and Damodar have been arrested from the District Board Chowk of Hazaribagh where they had come to collect levy amount. Police got this success after tracing the younger brother of Buddhan, Anil Ganjhu, who was released later on. As per sources, police first arrested Damodar alias Sagar Bhuiyan on Wednesday, from District Board Chowk and used him to nab Buddhan Ganjhu. Damodar made a call to Buddhan Ganjhu
and said him to reach District Board Chowk. Buddhan first sent his younger brother Anil there who was taken into custody. Then Anil rang Buddhan and called him at the spot and thus Buddhan fell into the trap of Hazaribagh police. Since Anil is juvenile and there is no case against him so police released him. Sources
said that Buddhan was accompanied by Sanjay Choubey, a resident of Birbir village of Chatra district, who succeeded to escape. The area of Barhi, Padma, Chouparan, Katkamsandi and Vishnugarh comes under JPC’s sub-zonal commander Buddhan Ganjhu. Damodar has recently got bail and he accepted that nowadays he was working for Buddhan Ganjhu.
All these arrests have been made by the police force posted at SP’s residence. Under the leadership of SP Manoj Kaushik Hazaribagh police was in search of Buddhan and his associates since long. During last 2-3 months the incidents of taking levy have increased and last week the left ultras have opened fire on an engineer at his residence in the midst of town.
Now Hazaribagh police has intensified its search operation of other ultras with the help of clues being given by both Buddhan and Damodar.
