Poll trumpets finally became silent on Friday after the end of hectic campaigning in constituencies across Dhanbad and Bokaro districts going to the polls in the fourth phase on December 14.
Contestants of various political parties and groups of supporters were seen distributing pamphlets in a number of localities across the coal belt. The candidates have intensified door-to-door campaign to reach maximum number of voters in both urban and rural areas.
“I personally feel that the door-to-door campaign leaves a good impact on the voters. Though it is difficult to meet each individual voter I have tried my best to meet as many electorates as possible”, said Viranchi Narayan BJP candidate for Bokaro Assembly constituency.
Aroop Chatrjee MlA of MCC at Nirsa said that door-to-door campaign was to effectively utilize the precious few hours ahead of polling. “It’s the best mode of interaction with voters in the last hours of campaigning,” he added.
We are focusing on two aspects during our campaign, said Rajesh Mahato a MCC party worker. “First, we are trying to encash our party’s achievements and promises which was made and fulfilled in this tenure. And, secondly we are trying to convince the people that the BJP is in cashing the popularity of PM Modi would not be the solution of Nirsa constituency so vote for MCC,” he added.
Sanjay Tyagi, Bokaro district president of BJP said, “Door-to-door campaigning is the best mode of interaction but given the size of the constituency it is difficult to reach out to each and every voter. However, we are aiming to cover as many areas as possible
Meanwhile few other political parties assigned this job to their women cadres. “It’s all the positive response in the door-to-door campaign by our women cadres”, said D V Ram of BSP.
Dhanbad district consists of six legislative assemblies Sindri, Nirsa, Dhanbad, Jharia, Tundi and Baghmara), while two Bokaro district constituencies including Bokaro and Chandankiyari are going to poll on Sunday.
